A friendly cop takes a pregnant woman in labor down the street to the hospital and stays by her side throughout the delivery. But right after the baby’s birth, he learns something unexpected and eventually becomes the child’s father.





When couples are planning babies, they need to pay attention to many things. Nothing beats the joy of parenthood, but we cannot ignore the fact that the child deserves a happy life too. We all agree on that, don’t we?

Unfortunately, many new parents don’t, and in their excitement at welcoming a baby, they don’t see what lies ahead. That’s exactly what happened to a new mom named Caroline who went into labor on a random street.

Ever since Caroline’s day had begun, she hadn’t felt particularly well. She lived with her boyfriend Jakob in Munich and worked as a software engineer. She and her boyfriend were over the moon when they found out they were going to be parents.

Life was perfect, Caroline thought. But one day everything changed…

It was a moderately sunny morning and Policeman Stefan was on his way to the police station. In a hurry to get to work on time, he had missed his morning meal, so he decided to have a quick breakfast before heading to the train station and steered his car in the direction of his favorite diner.

There he had the order packed and returned to the car, immediately taking a satisfying bite of breakfast and not being able to resist the temptation.

“Jesus! The staff here deserve a raise! This has got to be the best bagel I’ve ever had in my life!” he exclaimed contentedly, frowning.

“No one’s coming,” she replied, trembling. “You must go now, Mr. Policeman!”

After devouring the bagel, police officer Stefan grabbed the wheel again and decided to drink the coffee at work. He left the diner and took a shortcut to get to the train station, but suddenly he noticed something and stopped.

“What’s going on there?” he wondered.

Police officer Stefan noticed a large crowd gathered around the street corner, immediately got out of his car and rushed over to investigate more.

As he pushed past the crowds to the curb, he noticed a woman crying miserably from the pain. “Are the paramedics here yet? She has to go to the hospital as soon as possible!” a woman shouted, and policeman Stefan realized what had happened.

The woman was in painful labor and had to be taken to the hospital immediately. Policeman Stefan was late ready for work, but after seeing the woman’s condition, he could think of nothing else but to help her.

He didn’t waste another minute and made up his mind. He decided to carry the woman in his car instead of waiting for the ambulance and asked others for help. “Pick her up and put her in my car! I know a shorter way to the city hospital!” he suggested, and a few people jumped in to help him.

Together they picked up the woman and safely transported her to police officer Stefan’s car, who rushed the woman to the hospital.

“Ma’am, you’ll be fine,” he comforted her as she continued to scream in pain, “we’ll barely be 10 minutes. Please hold on!”

Policeman Stefan drove as fast as he could and got to the hospital in 10 minutes, which seemed like forever. Once there, he quickly called an orderly and the woman was escorted to the emergency room.

To make sure the woman was okay, he stayed in the hospital until the delivery and called the ward to let them know he was going to be late for work.

Policeman Stefan did not leave the place during the entire confinement. He waited in front of the ward and finally a doctor came to him and announced that the delivery was successful. The woman had given birth to a little girl.

“Both the woman and the child are doing well. You’ll be able to see her shortly,” the doctor added, smiling.

Police officer Stefan visited the woman after she was transferred to the general ward and offered that he could contact her family on her behalf, but as soon as he mentioned it, she burst into tears.





“No one is coming,” she replied trembling, “I have no relatives because I am an orphan and the baby’s father left me. He didn’t want to be the child’s father, so he just left! You can go now, Mr. Policeman. Thank you for your help in getting me here. I can do the rest by myself.”

Policeman Stefan didn’t know what to do. Before leaving the hospital, he brought her some fruit and exchanged phone numbers so she could contact him if needed. But everything turned out very differently and for the better.

Police officer Stefan visited Caroline in the hospital every day and took care of her until she was discharged.

“You don’t have to do this, sir,” Caroline said each time, and he smiled. “I’m just doing my job. I protect the citizens and serve them… ma’am!”

“Caroline,” she corrected him one day, “please call me Caroline!”

Over time, neither Caroline nor police officer Stefan noticed, but they became very close and soon fell in love. Cop Stefan loved spending time with little Janet and he wanted to be by her and Caroline’s side forever.

So one day he did.

He worked up the courage, got on his knees and proposed to her. “As antsy as it sounds, I want to love and protect you and Janet for the rest of my life. Will you marry me and be mine forever Caroline?”

“No!”, Caroline replied immediately and policeman Stefan made a long face.

“No? But I thought we were in love?”

Suddenly Caroline started laughing. “Oh my god, look at your face! It is of course a yes. But what if I really said no?” she giggled.





“Jesus! You scared me to death!” he laughed as he put the ring on her finger. He then hugged her tightly and promised that he would always be there for her, causing Caroline to blush.

“I love you! I couldn’t have found a better partner,” she told him.

A month later, the adorable couple tied the knot, and as police officer Stefan had promised Caroline, he became a lovable husband and a much more loving father. He loved his family more than anything and surprisingly it all happened because of an unexpected, miraculous encounter.

What can we learn from this story?

Sometimes chance encounters can lead to incredibly beautiful beginnings. Cop Stefan and Caroline met in the most unlikely of circumstances – during her labour. And from there, her life took an unexpected turn and blossomed into a loving family.
Being a police officer is tough and our officers deserve our gratitude. Police officer Stefan was looking forward to a quiet day at work when he encountered a pregnant Caroline in labour. Without hesitation, he jumped to her aid and took her to the hospital. Cops like him have our undying admiration and gratitude.
